Could Script Task Component uses a Framework 1.1 assembly?

Could Script Task Component uses a Framework 1.1 assembly?

Yes, it can - we did some testing. But you have to copy it to SYSTEM\assembly and register it in GAC (gacutil.exe).

Could not load type 'System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeDataAdapter' from assembly 'System.Data.Sql

Hi,

I am trying to make a mobile application work, but I get the following error. The operating system on Pocket PC is Microsoft? Windows Mobile? 2003 Second Edition. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The followings are the error and my codes:

System.TypeLoadException was unhandled
Message="Could not load type 'System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeDataAdapter' from assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845DCD8080CC91'."
StackTrace:

at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad()
at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibleNotify()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.set_Visible()
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
at SQLMobile.Form1.Main()

Codes:

Private Sub FillGrid()

Dim filename As New String _

("\Program Files\SQLMobile\sqlmobile.sdf")

Dim conn As New SqlCeConnection("Data Source=" + filename)

Dim selectCmd As SqlCeCommand = conn.CreateCommand()

selectCmd.CommandText = "select Destination from flightdata"

Dim adp As New SqlCeDataAdapter(selectCmd)

Dim ds As New DataSet()

adp.Fill(ds)

DataGrid1.DataSource = ds

End sub

First, make sure the version of the System.Data.SqlServerCe is the correct one for Compact Framework 2.0 (not the CF1 version which only works with SQL CE 2.0)

Next, uninstall then reinstall SQL Mobile CABs on your device.

Finally, don't use the SqlCeDataAdaper to populate that DataSet - it is the absolute slowest option! Use either the SqlCeDataReader or the SqlCeResultSet to do so.

Could not load file or assembly when vew data source

I use VS2008 to develop a web application.
When I open a local report, it's report datasource does not show.
I click the report->DataSource to see it's datasource, but it appear an
error message:
"Could not load file or assembly ### "
But the file or assembly does exist. How can I solve this problem?Did any one find a solution for this issue, yet?

Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe'...

I am trying to use SQL Mobile 2005 with Visual Studio 2005. I have a simple sql mobile db i created and am trying to test connectivity to the DB in a simple app. I added the reference to the SqlServerCE and the verison # that is shown in properties is 3.0.3600.0, but when i look at the physical DLL in explorer (found at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SmartDevices\SDK\SQL Server\Mobile\v3.0) the version # is 3.0.5206.0, so when i compile and run the test, I get :
System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) > System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=3.0.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3be235df1c8d2ad3, Retargetable=Yes' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040).

I have uninstalled visual studio and reinstalled thinking I had a driver issue because I had beta products installed, but I get the same result. I am at a loss of what to do about this.
Hi Mike,

Which project you are working on?
PPC2003/PPC2005/SPH2005/WCE42/WCE50/WIN32

Also is it the device or emulator?

Can you try installing VS 2005 on a very clean machine (no uninstalls and installs) and see if it repros. Basically we want to figure out whether it is a setup issue or a functional issue.

Thanks,
Laxmi NRO, MSFT, SQL Mobile, Microsoft Coporation|||I seemed to have narrowed down the issue. I am using PPC 2005 btw.
The above error occurs if I am using the built in Unit Testing in Team Edition. If i strip out that stuff and just have a simple connection object (outside a test harness) it works fine. Has anyone been able to do TDD using win mobile and sql mobile 2005?|||

UT is not supported for devices, so the answer is no.

well that is garbage. anyway, for this example i wasn't testing anything using mobile, just a simple sql mobile connection.|||

Could not load file or assembly SQLXMLBULKLOADLib

Greetings,

I'm in the process of migrating several SQL Server 2000 DTS packages to Integration Services packages. One of the old 2000 DTS packages used the SQLXML Bulk Loader component. In order to use the new SQLXML 4 COM object in my Script Task (to initiate the Bulk Loader using .NET code) I've used the tlbimp.exe tool to create a .NET wrapper DLL. I've placed the DLL in the appropriate directory (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\SDK\Assemblies), successfully added it to my project (with Intellisense working), but when I run the package it fails with the following error:

Could not load file or assembly 'SQLXMLBULKLOADLib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Note: I also tried placing the DLL in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 with no prevail.

I've confirm the file exists (and any dependencies) in their appropriate locations. Has anyone else run into this? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Shaun

i'm not sure if this resolves your issue, but have you considered using the ole db destination component to bulk load the data?|||Reason I leaned toward the SQLXML Bulk Loader class is because i have a ton of XML I'm downloading and want to leverage the performance of the XML bulk loader. I'm not aware of how the OLE DB Destination object can help me with this.|||

I've resolved this issue by using... well... what I'm supposed to use. I created a Data Flow task and implemented an XML Source (applying an XSD transformation), Data Conversion (to convert from Unicode) and Ole Db Destination. This successfully loads the data into the database from XML.

|||shaun,

i'm glad that you found a solution to your problem. as you probably already know, the ole db destination is designed to bulk load data.|||

Did you add it to the GAC? You need to add it to the framework folder for design-time only (C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727) but at runtime it uses the GAC.

I think the better solution is to re-write to use the XML Source as this is very powerful and handles hierarchical data, but obviously this may not be ideal if you have a lot of packages and XMl formats.

It seems that you installed a previous CTP version of SQL Server Service Pack 2, most likely November 2006, and then upgraded only the DM Add-ins. If this is correct, you will need to

- uninstall the DM Add-ins

- install the SQL Server SP 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/downloads/servicepacks/sp2.mspx)

- install the version of add-ins coming with SP2 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7c76e8df-8674-4c3b-a99b-55b17f3c4c51&DisplayLang=en)

|||

I got a similar issue solved following these steps:

- Close excel

- Open a command prompt

- Go to the Add-ins installation folder (typically, C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2005 DM Add-Ins)

- Run “gacutil -if Microsoft.DataWarehouse.DLL”

- IF gacutil.exe is not in the path You should find it somewhere in the Program Files folder (either somewhere under C:\Program Files\Microsoft.Net\SDK\v2.0\Bin or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin\gacutil.exe)

But may be a solution particular for my machine (W2003 R2 SP2)

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Data.Odbc...

I have developed an application in C#, and it uses both a SQL server database, and as part of its operation it opens up a Foxpro database. I am using Odbc to connect to the fox pro database and everything wortks just fine on my devleopment machine. However when I deploy my application I am getting the following error text when ever I create the form that does the Odbc work.

File name: 'Microsoft.Data.Odbc, Version=1.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'

I have absolutely no clue why I am getting this error. I have insured that the latest MDAC was installed ( it is XP Pro so no updates there ) I have made sure that I have the latest Fox Pro Odbc driver installed as well and I can create the DSN just fine.

Can anyone point me where to look next ? Im truly stumped here.

Thanks in advance for any and all input!!!

Ya know... Im theliving walking example of how a little information in the wrong hands can do a lot of harm :P

I kept on researching and found that the deployment maching had not had the Odbc.Net package installed on it. Once I did that everything worked fine.

I see ADODB.dll as a project reference, but this shows version

these are not showing the same version number. Local Copy is false.

go to a machine that has this folder and copy it (or the adodb.dll file if you have the folder) to the machines that cannot find the adodb file

copy this folders contents to the GAC (c:\windows\assembly)

if you look in c:\program files and cannot find the folder Microsoft.NET

or if you dont see the file adodb.dll in

c:\program files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies

Solution:

go to a machine that has this folder and copy it (or the adodb.dll file if you have the folder) to the machines that cannot find the adodb file

copy this folders contents to the GAC (c:\windows\assembly)

Note: These commands were invoked at the Command prompt from within the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies" directory; Alternatively I could have prefix the .dll names with their path (i.e. C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies\adodb.dll in the case of adodb.dll).

I am facing the same problem. However I solved it differently. I just removed the following line from the web.config:

<add assembly="ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B03F5F7F11D50A3A"/>

However, now I have to remember removing that line everytime I provide the build. Because the VS 2005 adds that line back in and I dont know how to tell VS not to add that thing in.|||The Safest way would be to Find the "adodb.dll" ver 7.0.3300.0 and paste it to your Project's BIN folder.

Could not load file or assembly ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0

I have an application broadly deployed (about 10 computers). As of yesterday, two of these computers are unable to start the application, and failing with the error below. All other computers run the application just fine.
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'ADODB, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
I checked and ADODB.dll version 7.0.3300.0 is in the GAC in the deployment target machines.
I find ADODB.dll in my C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies folder (development computer), but this is version 7.10.3077.0 (file properties version)
I see ADODB.dll as a project reference, but this shows version 7.0.3300.0, and shows the path to the PIA folder. I have no clue why these are not showing the same version number. Local Copy is false.
Installing MDAC 2.8 on the failing deployment target machines did not help.
Any clues or ideas or things to try?

sounds like a versioning issue ...try installing the upgraded version to the non-qworking machines..

More importantly, wWere you ever able to resolve the problem? Thanks!

I am having the same problem but don't understand your response. What product "version" are you referring to when you say it is a "versioning problem"?

Thanks!

Jim

|||Not a clue. It was not helpful to me. This has happened subsequently to us on other computers. What I found I needed to do was place a copy of ADODB.dll into the application folder. Even though the very SAME version of ADODB was ALREADY installed at the deployment computer's GAC. This should not be necessary, and makes no sense to me. I really believe there is some other problem here.|||

Hey Lee (or anyone),

I have the same exact issue. Has anyone found a solution ?

Thanks !

I just had this problem today and I found a solution to it:

if you look in c:\program files and cannot find the folder Microsoft.NET

then that is the first cause.

or if you dont see the file adodb.dll in

c:\program files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies

Solution:

go to a machine that has this folder and copy it (or the adodb.dll file if you have the folder) to the machines that cannot find the adodb file

Go into this folder and into the primary interop folder

copy this folders contents to the GAC (c:\windows\assembly)

your app should find the adodb.dll now

Hope this helps

how assembly the ADODB version 7.0.3300.0 in PC?|||

Works great. Thanks.

My production Windows XP Pro box did not have "C:\Program Files\Microsoft.Net," so I copied this folder from my development Win2000 Pro box onto it.

My production box login account did not have Administrator previledges and/or could not copy to "C:\Windows\Assembly" so I found the GACUtil.Exe on this box, which happened to be in "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322," and relied on my DOS days to invoke this utility against each of the .dlls from the command prompt; registering them to the GAC.

The location of the GACUtil.Exe was not in my search path on this Windows XP box so the command was a bit weird looking, as it included the location of the GACUtil.Exe:

"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\GACUtil.Exe" /i adodb.dll
